Best for

People who want more than Activity Monitor or Task Manager without opening a web-based dashboard.

Why it deserves attention

Pulse groups processes by app with their real icons, then shows CPU per core with Performance and Efficiency cores separated, memory pressure and what holds it, GPU engines, every disk and network interface, and which app moves the most data down to individual connections. It also covers battery health, energy per app, temperatures, and what keeps the machine awake, with optional CPU, memory, network, or temperature items in the menu bar. It is a native Go app built with MyGo, draws on the GPU without a web view, and uses about 3% of one core while visible. It is free but closed source, and the deepest sensors are macOS-specific.
