SoftBestshelumiUnderrated
A Finder drive that keeps terabytes in encrypted cloud storage while using zero bytes on your Mac.
Best for
Mac users with large video, photo, or archive libraries who need space without buying a new machine.
Why it deserves attention
helumi adds a drive to Finder that looks and behaves like local storage, but keeps the files in end-to-end encrypted cloud storage and uses zero bytes on the Mac. Large videos stream on demand rather than downloading first, and files can be shared by link with 30-day recovery after deletion. Pricing starts at $10 a month for 1 TB and scales up to 7 TB, billed monthly or yearly with cancellation at any time. The app is free to download, requires macOS 26.2, and reports more than 486 users; public revenue tracking shows about $1,200 a month. The trade-off is a subscription plus a network dependency for cloud-only files, and the product is still young.
