TolariaUnderrated
A free, open-source Markdown knowledge base with a fast WYSIWYG editor and real Git history.

Best for
People with large local Markdown vaults who want wiki links and version history without a plugin stack.
Why it deserves attention
Tolaria opens a folder of Markdown files as a knowledge base, with a fast WYSIWYG editor, properties, relations, wiki links, and a graph view. It treats Git as a first-class feature: changes are committed automatically, so every note has history and can sync through any Git remote. Desktop builds cover macOS, Windows, and Linux, and an iPhone and iPad beta is available. It is AGPL-3.0 with 20,000 GitHub stars and active daily development. It is younger than Obsidian, with a smaller plugin ecosystem, and the mobile app is still beta.
