Best for

Mac users who convert images, video, audio, PDFs, and documents many times a day.

Why it deserves attention

Tangerine puts a format wheel around the pointer the moment you drag a file and hold Shift; drop it on a format and the converted copy appears beside the original. Command opens file tools for compression, cropping, trimming, metadata editing, redaction, PDF merging, and collages; Control offers AirDrop, float, copy, move, copy path, and terminal actions. Everything runs locally. The first 20 files are free, then a one-time purchase unlocks unlimited use; it is Mac-only and Apple silicon only.
