Sublime TextUnderrated
The editor that made fast, multi-cursor editing feel essential, still lean after all these years.

Best for
Developers who open huge files and repos daily and want an editor that never stutters.
Why it deserves attention
Sublime Text opens multi-hundred-megabyte files without drama, thanks to a custom rendering engine and an index that powers instant project-wide search. Multiple cursors, column selection, split editing, a command palette that reaches every command, and a highly scriptable plugin API are all still best-in-class. LSP and AI-assistant plugins arrived through the package ecosystem, so it can keep up with modern workflows without turning into an Electron app. It has unlimited evaluation but is paid for continued use. The trade-off: it stays deliberately minimal, so debuggers and language tooling come from plugins rather than being bundled like VS Code.
