ReflectUnderrated
Local-first Markdown notes with wiki links, fast search, and optional AI over your own files.

Best for
People who want a polished daily-notes app without locking their writing into a proprietary database.
Why it deserves attention
Reflect Open is an MIT-licensed rewrite of Reflect built around a folder of plain Markdown files. It opens to today's note, supports [[wiki links]] and backlinks, and searches notes, tags, and backlinks from a command palette, with optional local semantic search. AI answers at Command-J use your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or OpenRouter key and cite the source notes, while notes marked private are excluded from AI and external services. Audio memos, Chrome capture, iCloud or git sync, and a small CLI for scripts and agents round it out. It runs on Mac and iPhone with signed and notarized builds. The Mac app is free and open source, while the iPhone and iPad app requires a paid subscription; sync and AI are bring-your-own, with no hosted account.
