SoftBestsNotesnookUnderrated
End-to-end encrypted notes that work offline and sync across every platform.
Best for
People who want Evernote-style capture without handing readable notes to a cloud provider.
Why it deserves attention
Notesnook encrypts notes end to end, keeps a local database for offline use, and syncs to Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, and the web. It covers Markdown editing, nested topics, tags, reminders, attachments, and importing from Evernote, Notion, and plain text. It is GPL-3.0 with 14,000+ GitHub stars and active releases. The free tier covers core use, while Pro adds attachments, unlimited devices, and advanced history; self-hosting is possible but not turnkey.
