Readwise Reader
A read-it-later app built for power readers, with highlights that sync back to your notes.

Best for
People who save long articles, PDFs and newsletters and actually want to remember them.
Why it deserves attention
Reader takes articles, PDFs, EPUBs, email newsletters, YouTube transcripts, RSS and X threads into one queue and gives you web highlighting, text-to-speech and an AI assistant over the document. Its differentiator is the Readwise side: highlights flow back into Obsidian, Notion, Roam and 40-plus other tools, plus a daily review that resurfaces old ones. The interface is fast once you learn the shortcuts, and the browser extension and mobile apps cover the saving side. It is not free after the 30-day trial: Full Readwise runs about $9.99 a month billed yearly, and there is no self-hosted option.
