Best for

Mac and Windows users who want fast window capture and polished screenshots without a subscription or cloud account.

Why it deserves attention

QuickShot leaves the screen undimmed and outlines the window under the pointer; one click captures it, or drag for an area. The editor has ten annotation tools, gradients, window frames, shadows, signatures, and vertical, horizontal, or grid stitching. Pinned captures float above other apps, and on-device OCR plus Smart Redact can pull out text or hide names, emails, IPs, and keys. It runs locally with no account, is GPL-3.0 on GitHub, and supports macOS 12+ and Windows 10/11. It is Electron-based, so it is heavier than native Mac-only utilities.
