Plausible
Lightweight, cookie-free web analytics that fits on one screen and can be self-hosted.

Best for
Sites and creators in Europe or anywhere GDPR matters who want simple numbers without a consent banner.
Why it deserves attention
Plausible tracks pageviews, sources, goals and funnels with a script under a kilobyte, sets no cookies and does not collect personal data, so it is legally simple in the EU and needs no consent popup. The dashboard is a single page per site — visitors, top pages, referrers, countries, devices and custom events — with goals, funnels, ecommerce revenue and a stats API. It is open source under AGPL and can be self-hosted with Docker, while the hosted version is priced by pageviews and starts around $9 a month with a free trial. The trade-off: no session recordings, no heatmaps, and self-hosting means you own the database and upgrades.
