UmamiUnderrated
A privacy-first web analytics tool that replaces Google Analytics with a single dashboard you own.

Best for
Indie developers and small sites that want traffic numbers without cookie banners or third-party trackers.
Why it deserves attention
Umami ships as a small Node/Postgres or MySQL service with a lightweight tracking script that sets no cookies, collects no personal data and stays under a couple of kilobytes, so most sites do not need a consent banner for it. The dashboard shows visitors, pageviews, referrers, devices, countries and custom events over time, supports multiple websites and teams, and exposes an API for dashboards. It can be self-hosted with Docker or one of its managed cloud plans. It has roughly 39,000 GitHub stars. The limits are real: its ecosystem of integrations is smaller than the incumbent's, and self-hosting means running a database yourself.
