Why it deserves attention

ONLYOFFICE provides document, spreadsheet, presentation, form, and PDF editors, with desktop apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux and a self-hostable Docs server for browser-based co-editing. It aims for high OOXML fidelity, so complex Word and Excel files are less likely to shift than in some alternatives. The desktop editors and community server are free and open source under AGPL-3.0; enterprise features, support, and some limits are paid. The trade-off is that the free desktop app is more basic than the web suite, and advanced collaboration needs the server deployment.
