MongoDB Compass
MongoDB's official GUI for schema discovery and aggregation pipelines.

Best for
MongoDB developers who need to understand document shapes and indexes visually.
Why it deserves attention
Compass samples documents and draws their schema, which is far more useful than staring at raw BSON when a collection has inconsistent fields. It includes a stage-by-stage aggregation pipeline builder, explain plans, index management, and a shell. It is free but Electron-based and MongoDB-only, and large collections still require care when sampling or running exploratory queries.
