KagiUnderrated
A search engine funded by subscribers, so the results answer your question instead of an ad auction.

Best for
People tired of SEO spam who want to tune ranking themselves, with no ads and no tracking.
Why it deserves attention
Kagi is paid search: no ads, no tracking, and ranking you can edit — raise or lower whole domains, apply Lenses that re-weight results for a topic, and use bangs to jump to other sites. It mixes its own crawler and index with other sources, offers a Summarizer and an Assistant that read the results page, plus family and team plans. Because users are the customers, it has no incentive to fill the first screen with sponsored links. The trade-offs: it costs money after a small free allowance, you need an account, coverage of very long-tail queries can trail Google, and you are trusting a small independent company with your search history — even though it says it does not build profiles.
