Gitea
A lightweight self-hosted Git service for code, issues, and pull requests.

Best for
Teams that want GitHub-style collaboration on their own hardware with minimal resources.
Why it deserves attention
Gitea runs as a single Go binary and provides repositories, issues, pull requests, code review, wikis, packages, and Actions-compatible CI, with a web UI close enough to GitHub that migration is easy. It is MIT-licensed with 58,000 GitHub stars, runs on modest hardware, and supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. It is lighter than GitLab but has a smaller CI and security ecosystem. The hosted Gitea Cloud exists, but self-hosting is the main use case.
