BusyCalUnderrated

A one-time-purchase Mac calendar that shows tasks, weather and travel time in the grid, not just events.

Best for

Mac and iPhone users who want a dense, customisable calendar on iCloud, Google or Exchange without a subscription.

Why it deserves attention

BusyCal puts everything on one timeline: events, to-dos and their due dates, weather forecasts, travel time between appointments and natural-language entry that understands phrases like every other Tuesday. Views are unusually configurable — day, week, month, year, list and a full-screen mode — with smart filters that build saved views across calendars. It syncs with iCloud, Google, Exchange and CalDAV, works offline, and shares the same calendar engine with BusyContacts. A one-time $49.99 purchase covers Mac and iOS with a free 14-day trial, and it is also inside Setapp. The caveats: no cross-platform Windows or web client, no team scheduling links, and the interface is busier than the minimal defaults in Apple Calendar.
