## Best for

Developers running several local servers and coding agents who need to find leaks before the fan spins up.

## Why it deserves attention

WhatThePort is a native Swift menu bar app that lists every local dev server with its port, project, git branch, memory use, and the Claude Code, Codex, Conductor, or Pane session that started it. It links back to the agent conversation or the Vercel preview for the same commit, turns amber when a server passes 2 GB or grows 500 MB in ten minutes, and can stop a server's own process tree without touching sibling servers; Postgres and Redis are protected by default. A `wtp` TUI exposes the same list and cleanup actions to scripts and agents. It is MIT-licensed, free, requires macOS 14 or later, and keeps everything local with no account. The trade-off is that agent-session linking depends on those tools' hooks, and it is a focused menu bar utility rather than a full process monitor.
