## Best for

Mac and Linux users who want a small, stable torrent client with a native interface and remote control.

## Why it deserves attention

Transmission handles magnet links, DHT, PEX, and local peer discovery, encrypted peer connections, bandwidth limits, scheduling, watch folders, and a web interface for remote control. On macOS it has a native interface and a menu bar mode, and it is known for a small memory footprint and predictable behavior. It is GPL-licensed and free. It is deliberately minimal: queue management, RSS automation, and fine-grained per-torrent rules are less developed than in qBittorrent, so power users may outgrow it.
