Why it deserves attention
Talkify is a small Swift app that lives in the notch, transcribes on-device, and pastes into whatever app has focus. The author publishes a latency benchmark against Superwhisper, VoiceInk, Wispr Flow, and MacWhisper, with Talkify reporting the lowest median time from key release to text. It has configurable models and shader-based notch animations, and is MIT-licensed and free with about 600 GitHub stars. It requires macOS 26 on Apple silicon and is much less established than the paid alternatives, so treat the benchmark as the author's own measurement.
