SoftBestsKarakeepUnderrated
A self-hostable bookmark manager that saves links, notes, images, and PDFs with AI tagging.
Best for
People who save links constantly and want searchable ownership instead of another cloud silo.
Why it deserves attention
Karakeep captures links, notes, images, and PDFs, fetches metadata, stores offline copies, and indexes full text, then uses an LLM to tag and summarize what you save. It runs as a web app with browser extensions and iOS and Android clients, and self-hosting is free with unlimited bookmarks and storage. The cloud plan starts free with 50 bookmarks, then $4 a month for 50,000. AI tagging needs an API key or the paid plan, and self-hosting means you own backups and upgrades.
