## Best for

Remote workers who want to check their camera and background before a video call.

## Why it deserves attention

Hand Mirror puts a live camera preview in the menu bar, so checking your face and background takes one click instead of opening Photo Booth. The free app covers the core check; Hand Mirror Plus adds a resizable always-on-top window, window masks, mic check, Polaroid-style snaps, reactions, custom icons, and a notch trigger. It is Mac-only and the Plus tier is a one-time purchase. App Store editorial credits and years of updates make it a safe, focused utility.

## Can replace

- Photo Booth
