Best for

Developers who leave long coding-agent sessions running at home or on a server and want to check in without opening a full remote desktop.

Why it deserves attention

Droppen keeps Claude Code and Codex running on your own Mac or Linux machine, then lets you answer questions, send new instructions, open a terminal, browse files, and start sessions from a phone browser. Sessions stay on the computer; when you sign in, an end-to-end encrypted copy syncs to Droppen Hub so recent sessions remain readable while the machine is offline (7 days on Free, 30 on Pro), and only approved devices can decrypt it. The client is AGPL-3.0, while the Hub is closed and not self-hostable. Local-only mode is free with no account; the hosted Free plan covers 3 AI devices and 8 total devices with 10 GB of relay traffic, and Pro is planned at $10 a month or $96 a year but is still a waitlist. The trade-off is that direct connections work best, relays add latency, and the service is still early.
