## Best for

Former Arc users who miss its spatial workflow and want an independent, open-source continuation.

## Why it deserves attention

Crest rebuilds the Arc experience rather than reskinning Chromium: Spaces, a sidebar-first tab model, Peek previews, Split View, link routing, and a command palette, plus Crest Studio for customizing each Space. It is MPL-2.0, has 1,000+ GitHub stars, ships near-daily, and runs on Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It is explicitly early access and not independently security-audited, so it suits people who accept that trade-off for an Arc successor.
